Stephanie Brown

I really like these paintings by Stephanie Brown from Chicago, Illinois.  I’ve been reading Upton Sinclair’s The Jungle lately and I think these paintings just really match well with the novel.  It might be because the textures and ambiguous shapes remind me of slabs of meat.  Whether you agree with me or not, that these painting capture the essence of the novel, Stephanie Brown’s work is still amazing.  Click on the pictures to see these paintings in greater detail as well as more of her paintings.
