The drumming nerd in me could not resist posting this glass plate negative from the Powerhouse Museum Collection of a dance band member at Mark Foy’s Empress Ballroom.  Mark Foy’s used to be a department store in Sydney, Australia that opened in 1909 but then closed in 1983.  The building now houses legal courts and is now officially called the Downing Center, to see what the building looked like click over here.
